What is Human Resources?
Human Resources (HR) is the function of managing and building the capability of a company’s workforce.
The traditional domains of HR are recruitment and onboarding (selecting and setting new employees up for success), remuneration and benefits, Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) and Learning & Development.
How do you know when it is the right time to get help with HR?
Whether your company is a start-up onboarding their first member of staff or you are an organization with 100 employees at multiple sites, there is a lot to be across when it comes to workplace legislation in Australia and getting it wrong can cost you your business.
Regardless of industry and location the way we deliver of virtual HR services means that your company can take a bite-sized approach to implementing and improving your HR systems and practices without being overwhelmed or tied to long term contracts and add ons your business doesn’t need.
Do you provide training or just HR advice?
The best companies recognise that their people and understanding how they can create conditions for a motivated, mobile and highly-capable workforce is their competitive advantage.
Our staff are excited by and experienced in delivering one to one and group training, workshops and coaching to develop and sharpen the skills of front-line managers and individual team members.
Do you help companies with employees based overseas?
Yes. We currently service clients who have staff based at locations outside of Australia. Our speciality is supporting Australian-based business but we offer virtual training and development and coaching for international companies.
What is better, in-house or outsourced HR?
The general rule of thumb for companies in Australia depending on industry is that for every 100 staff there is normally 1 full time in-house HR professional.
Our experience suggests that for firms with less than 100 staff, it makes commercial sense to partner with an outsourced Human Resources provider rather than employ a full-time HR professional in-house.
As the challenges of HR are so wildly complex and varied, Shape HR is often utilised by larger organisations with in-house HR departments to provide expertise and support with specific projects in areas such as Leadership Development, mediations and staff engagement.
How does Shape HR work with its clients?
There are several ways that clients can work with Shape HR which include signing up to “set menu” type package with dedicated support for a period of time, by becoming a member of our services or through individually customised projects as of and when they need to engage our services.
Can you help our company with Workplace Health & Safety?
No. We do not provide advice or solutions in the space of Workplace Health & Safety but we do have trusted partners who share similar values and approach to work which we know resonates with our clients.
Do you provide on-site support?
Our model is to provide the majority of our HR solutions virtually which enables us to provide a high level of service to clients across Australia and internationally.
We do, however, offer face to face training and coaching.
